Step #1: Preparing Your Files for Uploading
Windows Files
Windows files can be uploaded "as is" without file compression; however, compressing Windows files prior to uploading them to FileShip will help to reduce the uploading time, since the file size can be dramatically reduced. The compression process is generally referred to as "zipping" a file. WinZip® is the most popular compression or zipping utility on the Windows platform.
A free trial version of WinZip is available at: http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm.
Mac Files
Prior to uploading your Mac files to FileShip you must use Stuffit® to compress them. File compression is necessary to maintain the integrity of the Macintosh file during the upload process.
Stuffit files will have a ".sit" extension added to the filename. A free trial version of Stuffit is available at: http://www.stuffit.com/mac/standard/index.html.
Step #2: Submission Form
Please fill out the form in its entirety. This will ensure that your documents are routed to the correct contact person.
Step #3: Uploading Files
Click the "Browse" button on your screen and select your file. You can upload five data files at a time, but you must select them individually.
If you have more than five files you can compress them into one .zip or .sit file.
You must then press "Submit."
Depending on the size of your file, you may need to wait for a few minutes for the transferring process to conclude. Please do not click on any buttons at this time—you will see a progress screen. When the transfer process is complete, you will see a confirmation page and receive an e-mail notification. Otherwise, an error message will be displayed.
